Simple syrup is a common ingredient used in a vast majority of cocktails. What most people don’t know is you can simply make it in the microwave, and it will keep in your fridge if you’d like to make it in advance.
What You’ll Need
- 1 cup water
- 2 cups sugar
Microwave 1 cup water in a microwave-safe container on High for 1 minute and 30 seconds (careful – it should be very hot). Add sugar, and stir for 20 seconds. Microwave on high an additional 45 seconds, then stir until sugar is dissolved and mixture is clear. Cover and chill until ready to use. Store in an airtight container in refrigerator up to 1 month.
